Harold's Story

I got my voice back!

My name is Harold Howard and I have been a slave to these voices since I was a little boy. I could not really function like a normal child in school or a home. The voices started after I was molested; at five years old. Now in my adult life I find that I have not been able to keep a job or stay in any healthy relationship. I allow the voices to take control of anything that was good for me. Like my self-esteem, peace of mind, sleep, and most of all my voice. It was not until 2010 when I found out that I no longer need to let the voices control my life. I found out that the voices need me more than I need them, and to top it all off I started to take back what the voice took from me. Like my happiness, peace, pride, and control. I stopped being a puppet and one day at a time I am taking control over my life. The Hearing voices support group is playing a great role in my life today, as now I see so many others with similar stories and share such inspirational experiences. I am happy to be a part of this new sense of hope.
